Looking to cure your singleton blues… or to re-ignite your daggy domestic partnership?
You need a one-on-one with entertainment’s least-likely newlyweds Dean Arcuri and Miz Ima Starr!
Trapped in a sexless marriage and loving every minute of it, these improbable belters reinvent the wedding reception as the ultimate gay celebration of song.
Fresh from their all-singing, all-dancing honeymoon in Vegas, The Duetaholics unveil their entirely unpatented recipe for everlasting marital bliss. From ‘We’ve Got Tonight’ in a go-go bar… to Adele’s Guide to Stalking… Dean and Ima are ready to give love an almighty chance.
Dean Arcuri has been belting out ballads and performing cheeky yet heartfelt tunes at festivals around Australia – including the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Fringe Festival, Melbourne Festival, Mardi Gras, Feast, Chillout and Midsumma. He has delighted audiences with his comedy cabarets, quick wit and revealing song choices.
Miz Ima Starr is a singing, wisecracking cabaret phenomenon of stage and small screen who has amassed fourteen cabaret shows, three CDs and two dozen TV appearances in her first quarter century of daredevil drag. Recent accomplishments include writing the album and show ‘My Heart’s A Drummer’, creating and touring the tribute show ‘Sia Sia Wanna Be Ya’ with Amanda Hodder, and singing ‘Over the Rainbow’ as a rainbow flag was hoisted on Hobart Town Hall for the very first time.
This brand new show from two of Australia’s most beloved queer cabaret artists made its confetti-drenched debut at Tasmania’s Festival of Voices and wow-d audiences during Feast. Hold onto your hats, because The Duetaholics are spreading the love all around the country.
