THE INVADERS’ FEAR OF MEMORIES: A PLAY ABOUT THE COLONISATION OF PALESTINE
Set against the backdrop of early 20th-century Palestine, The Invaders’ Fear of Memories is a powerful solo performance by Benjamin Rivers, exploring the life and diaries of his great-grandfather, Yousef Nachmani. Fleeing Tsarist Russia in 1907, Yousef arrives in Ottoman Palestine filled with Zionist ideals. However, he soon finds himself complicit in the displacement of thousands of Palestinians as he rises to become Director of the Jewish National Fund in Galilee. Through twelve distinct characters and songs in multiple languages, Rivers delves into the complexities of loyalty, ideology, and the devastating consequences of settler-colonialism. The play traces Yousef's journey from a young idealist to a key figure in the creation of an exclusively Jewish state, capturing his growing ambivalence amid the violence and injustice that accompanies the birth of Israel.
Directed by Linda Wise, "The Invaders’ Fear of Memories" offers an intimate and sobering look at a historical moment that continues to reverberate with devastating consequences in today’s world. Since August 2023, the show has been performed to audiences in Australia, France, Mexico, South Africa, and Spain.

HANGMAN - 2024 MELBOURNE FRINGE FESTIVAL
Two killers. One System.
What happens when a prison executioner tormented by guilt has a chance encounter with a sadistic serial killer?
Delve deep into the psyche of two killers in one system. The play takes the audience into the minds of our protagonists: an agonised prison executioner and a twisted serial killer. Traumatised by the nature of his job, the prison executioner is at the brink of insanity. The killer, driven by his obsession with the noose, sadistically uses the executioner’s fear and social conditioning against him to push him over the edge, ultimately leading to a shocking conclusion.
Combining an eclectic mix of dark comedy and absurdist theatre, Hangman challenges the audience's moral compass and explores themes of guilt, redemption, and the human psyche. The play poses myriad philosophical questions. Could we forgive the perpetrator? Should the death penalty be abolished? Should executing people ever be considered an occupation? Questions that will leave audiences on the edge of their seats, craving for more, and contemplating long after the curtains close."

Anita brings anecdote, observational and comedy sketch to have you falling in love with hospitals, nurses and catheters.

ROCK ‘N’ ROLL GHOST STORY - 2024 MELBOURNE FRINGE FESTIVAL
An absurdist dark comedy about paranoia, isolation, delusion, the paranormal and rock and roll. You know what they say about brothers: the bond between them is unbreakable. Sam and Alex shook the nation with their rock band 'The Revelation', making an album (and a half), and playing close to sold out gigs in their hometown. Things didn’t end too well with the brothers. They split almost two decades ago and entered a new phase of their careers: paranormal investigators, establishing a somewhat popular online TV program called ‘Ghost Trappers’. After some time, Sam’s paranoia and delusions put an end to their paranormal careers.
”Rock 'n' Roll Ghost Story” is an absurdist two-hander exploring the themes of paranoia, isolation, delusion and the paranormal. The play circles around a former superstar and rock and roll icon, Sam Strange. Since the bands break-up, Sam has become somewhat of a recluse, and Alex has gone missing.
It is evening in Sam’s living room. His only communication with the outside world is social media, mainly ‘X’ (formerly ‘Twitter’), where he communicates with fans. This night, however, is the real ‘revelation’. What really happened to Alex? Why has Sam been such a recluse over the past few years? Why the urgent need to tell his ‘X’ followers now?
When fantasy turns into reality, his world topples over and hiding is no longer an option.

CUTTING ONIONS
Bizarre, grotesque and observant, Cutting Onions dissects a relationship constrained by the oppression of gender expectations. The piece demonstrates the effects these constraints have on everyone, but exemplifies the damage it causes women.
The piece is a handcrafted visual spectacle that discards refinement and minimalism, for an abundance of raw artistry. Set in a transformative kitchen space, the nuanced storytelling is matched with jarring and often surreal imagery. The kitchen transfigures itself, congruent to the woman’s emotional turmoil and emphasises the impact of the man’s unintentionally harmful actions.
Cutting Onions challenges conventionally accepted behaviours and invites reflection and introspection. It depicts the experience of one individual woman, while representing something universally experienced by women.
Written by Nadia Sirninger Rankin.

ONE FOR US, ONE FOR YOU - 2024 MICF SEASON
Door To Door is proud to present ‘One For Us, One For You: Australia’s Sexiest Sketch Comedy Show’*
Drawing upon the talents and salesmanship of local award-winning performers, writers, international criminals (the fun kind), and far too much HECS debt, ‘One For Us, One For You’ is dedicated to hitting that sweet, sweet spot between comedy that appeals to all (The ‘you’ in this equation! Love Maths!) and then comedy that appeals only to the one or two people who sucked it out from the marrow of their enormous funny bones (The ‘us’ in this equation! Is it possible for an equation to be selfish?).
We hope somewhere in this tug of war, there’ll be a sketch for us and a sketch for you - the holy venn diagram that satisfies us all.
*If beauty is in the eye of the beholder, then sexiness lies in the [REDACTED]**
**as sexiness is inherently subjective the title of Sexiest cannot be disproven please don’t sue us.
*Content Warning: Contains occasional coarse language, implied violence, drug references and sexual references. Suitable for audiences aged 15+.

IN THE WINGS - 2024 MICF SEASON
Is there anything more annoying than a theatre kid?
Ryan and Corey live on two opposite ends of the high school spectrum: the rehearsal room and the footy oval. Together they are tasked with building the set for their high school's musical. Is coexistence possible or will all hell break loose?
Equal parts a celebration and satire, In the Wings is a new play by up-and-coming creatives Charlie Veitch and Rex Cameron which explores the importance of community, belonging, and doing what you love. It's mainly humorous though. Humorous and witty and relatable. It just has a big beating heart at the centre of it.
So, whether you're a seasoned high school thespian or an outsider confounded by the appeal of this strange, often cringe-inducing world, please come along and discover what's really going on…in the wings.
