LIFE THROUGH A BLACK EYE – 2021 MICF

Akwasi is a Cornwell born, Ghanaian raised, Perth claimed calling Melbourne home emerging stand up comedian. He was launched into the scene with his debut solo show in May 2019 at Afro Hub to a sell out audience. His comedy style can be described as observational/story telling with themes ranging from his life, idiosyncrasies of Africans to current affairs.

Inspired by his eagerness to observe and find humour in any situation, this West African comedian will take you on a journey through his mind that will have you thinking “damn, I never thought of it that way.” His ability to speak in a strong West African accent when referring his people will have you imitating the accent to your friends and family. Akwasi will take you through his unfiltered and facetious view on the current world we live in.

Akwasi’s last show was at the State Library of Western Australia in front of a sold out crowd.  As the world recovers from the pandemic, Akwasi is ready to put a smile back on your face by showing you the funny side of seeing life through a black eye.

The show will be featuring another fantastic Melbourne Comedian, Jay Malik. Like all of Akwasi’s shows there will be African tunes playing before and after the show, so stick around.
