The MC Showroom - Coronavirus Announcement

With the recent announcement made by the Australian Government, and the resulting cancellation of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, we have sadly had to say goodbye to many of our wonderful upcoming shows.
However, to maintain our role in supporting local Arts, we are opting to continue to operate until it has been deemed unsafe to. As we are a small venue, and fall under the current limits of public gatherings, we have decided to remain open, taking some extra measures to make it safer for our audiences over the coming months.

With our generous sized stage, individual seating arrangement and flexible rate structure, we are able to transform the theatre into a COVID-19 preventative venue.

Here is how:
1. To create a safe distance, each audience seat will be minimum 1 meter apart;

2. We are a face-mask friendly venue! All audiences are encouraged to wear face masks. NO JUDGEMENT! Special times require special measures!!

3. We will provide hand-sanitiser and hand towels both at the entrance and at the bar;

4. For our producers, we will offer a discounted and flexible rate structure due to reduced capacity. With the new seating configuration, we can cap capacity at 30, 50 and max 70.

With all the precautions we are taking, the theatre is still "business as usual", only cleaner and more flexible. With MICF cancellations we now also have more availability for workshops, acting classes, rehearsals and auditions.
